Nekawa sits on 390 acres (140 hectares) of preserved Atlantic rainforest, a private sanctuary built around a clear-water river and waterfalls, manicured gardens tended by stingless bees that produce our own fresh honey, a spa, and beautiful accommodations that deliver a luxury rustic-chic experience.

Brazil is the right place

Brazil has a long tradition of iboga practice and a medical system that takes ibogaine seriously, and Nekawa is a leader there in fully integrated ibogaine care, not just ibogaine treatment. Here we combine traditional practice with modern medical care: trained spiritual guides and iboga facilitators take each student through the experience, and a licensed medical team is on hand for medical and emergency care.

One of the most extraordinary places on earth

Costa Verde, Brazil’s Green Coast, is where ancient Atlantic rainforest tumbles down mountain slopes straight into warm, island-dotted bays. The landscape itself is part of the reason people leave transformed.

Fewer than 12% of the original Atlantic Forest remains. What surrounds Paraty is genuinely rare. Home to over 20,000 plant species, endemic wildlife found nowhere else on earth, and waterfalls hidden deep in old-growth jungle.

Three Hundred Islands

Over 300 forested islands scatter across the bay around Paraty. The water between them is warm, emerald-clear, and alive. Accessible only by boat, most have never been developed. They exist exactly as they always have.

Where Jungle Meets Sea

On the Costa Verde, the Atlantic Forest reaches all the way to the water’s edge, with cliffs draped in green, waterfalls that drop into the bay, beaches backed by ancient trees. One of the few coastlines in the world where this still happens.

Nekawa is located in Paraty, on Brazil’s Costa Verde coast, a 4-hour scenic drive from both São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Most guests fly into GRU or GIG, and we handle the transfer from there.
