Charles D Johnston & Tatiana Aya Tupinambá

Charles and Tatiana founded Nekawa as a wellness education program rooted in their own life experiences. Charles overcame a multi-year intravenous opiate addiction through ibogaine treatment in 2013, an experience that set the course of his life.

Tatiana, an indigenous woman from the Tupinambá Tribe of Northern Brazil, found her way through a traumatic childhood and alcohol dependency with ayahuasca, and has guided plant medicine ceremonies since 2012. Charles and Tatiana lead Nekawa as a program; medical care is provided by independent licensed physicians.

Together, they are devoted to nature and to building a place where science, indigenous wisdom, and the healing power of the natural world come together to give people a genuine second chance at life.
